What to expect from your appointment

At your initial appointment your Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist will have a thorough discussion with you about the reason you are seeking treatment, about your health history, lifestyle, and about your treatment goals.

Your therapist will then do a detailed assessment, which may involve observing your posture and certain movements, measuring your range of motion, doing more specialised tests if applicable and palpation of the area to feel the muscles, joints, ligaments and other structures involved.

This information will help to make a precise diagnosis and allow us to provide an effective treatment plan for any muscle, joint, or nerve-related issues you may be experiencing

Based on your needs and goals our therapists will establish a tailored treatment plan which may involve a combination of:

  • Manual therapy techniques including soft tissue mobilisation
  • Clinical Sports Massage
  • Joint mobilisations and manipulations
  • Acupuncture & Dry needling
  • Shockwave Therapy
  • Ultrasound
  • Lymphatic Drainage Massage
  • Kinesio taping
  • Myofascial Cupping
  • Biomechanical and postural assessment
  • Rehabilitation strengthening/stretching programmes
  • Bespoke Physio led Clinical Pilates Classes

It is important to know that every patient is different, and our approach is tailored to your individual needs. We will work closely with you and ensure you fully understand your diagnosis, treatment options, expected outcomes, and the estimated time it will take for your recovery. Additionally, we will provide you with guidance on how you can actively participate in your healing process from the comfort of your own home. Your well-being is our top priority, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Costs

We ask new clients with an injury or returning clients with a new injury to first book an initial assessment. This will allow your therapist to fully assess your injury before developing your treatment programme.

Note for those claiming through insurance: Please be aware that if you are intending to claim your treatment through Insurance we advise that you call the clinic to confirm which Insurance companies we are partnered with for direct payment and which you will need to pay in clinic and claim back through them. We will also be able to confirm which Physiotherapists are registered to be able to complete your treatment, explain the process and send out an additional Insurance form for completion prior to your appointment.

FAQs

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy and Injury Treatment is a science-based practice that focuses on helping people of all ages with muscle, joint, and soft tissue injuries or conditions. This therapy aims to improve movement and function while aiding in the recovery process by embracing a holistic ‘whole body’ approach to overall health and well-being, considering not only the specific condition but also the patient’s overall lifestyle.

What is Physiotherapy good for?
Physiotherapy and injury specialists can carefully diagnose and treat a wide array of conditions such as:

Achilles injuries Muscle tears Shin splints
Ankle sprains Overuse injuries Tendon / ligament injuries
Arthritis Planta fasciitis Tennis / golfers elbow
Back and neck pain Post – surgical rehabilitation Trapped nerves
Headaches Pre and post-natal problems Whiplash
ITB syndrome Sciatica

What should I bring?

Please bring any relevant medical reports, referral letters, and a list of current medications if applicable. Also, consider bringing a list of questions you may want to ask your Therapist.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated.

Is this covered by private medical insurance?

We work with the following private medical Insurers: AXA, WPA, Aviva, Vitality and Healix.

Please call our reception team for details on how we work with insurance companies and which Therapists are covered.

How long is a typical session?
Initial assessments usually take 45–60 minutes, with follow-up sessions typically lasting 30–45 minutes.
Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist?

No referral is needed to book an appointment directly, unless required by your insurance provider.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your condition, but your Therapist will discuss a personalised treatment plan during your initial assessment.

Will I be treated on my first visit?
In most cases, yes. Treatment usually begins during your first appointment after the assessment, if time allows. If more time is needed to fully understand your condition, treatment may begin at your next session.
Is it possible to receive treatment for the same condition without undergoing a new assessment if more than six months have passed since my last appointment?

To ensure the highest standard of care and patient safety, a new assessment is required if more than six months have elapsed since your previous appointment, even if you are seeking treatment for the same condition. Significant changes can occur in your health or circumstances during this time, which may affect your diagnosis or treatment needs. A comprehensive reassessment allows us to accurately evaluate your current status, identify any new factors, and develop the most appropriate and effective treatment plan tailored to your needs.

This approach helps us provide safe, up-to-date care and ensures the best possible outcomes for your recovery.
